Prize Porkers

Another New Zealand record came to Gisborne recently when the Tomaona pig competition's North Island championship was won by an entry of Large whites from Mr F.A. Buckley, which scored 367 points, the highest in the history of the competition. The competition was judged at westfield, Auckland, on July 4. Mr Buckley also won the North Island Championship for bacon. Judges seen below with exhibits are Messrs J. Anderson (Auckland), F.C. Kelly (Gisborne), E. Smith (Hastings), J. Barbour (Gisborne), N. Webby (Gisborne), C.W. Williamson (Hastings) and E. Greville (Hastings).
