Twenty-three-year-old Gisborne housewife Mrs Jocelyn Screech, 80 Awapuni Road, who won the title of "Miss Gisborne" from 10 entrants at the Waikanae Beach Carnival during. Christmas, graces our colour cover this month.

Wife of a bank security officer, Mr Brian Screech, and mother of a 22 months-old son Darryn, Jocelyn won a £20 cash prize and a four-day holiday in Tauranga where she competed in the "Miss New Zealand Holiday Resort" beauty contest.
