Instant Kerbs

An ingenious "Kerbmaker" machine has revolutionised the laying of concrete kerbs and channels on Gisborne's streets.

Developed and built in Tauranga, the machine engages three men and a mobile concrete truck, and produces 500 feet of finished kerbing per day.

It is fed with a very dry mix of concrete which is forced out under pressure in the shape of the kerb. As it leaves the machine, the concrete is coated with a layer of fine plaster.

The "Kerbmaker" is to be based in Gisborne permanently.
