Mr Roger F. McLean, Ph.D., son of Mr and Mrs J. J. McLean, 15 Dominion Road, who is now lecturing at Canterbury University after spending three years at McGill University, Montreal, where he obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy. Prior to leaving New Zealand, he had gained his M.A. with first-class honours.

A record shipment of fresh fish, weighing 3087 pounds, was flown out of Gisborne for Sydney recently. Exported by East Coast Fisheries Ltd, the fish arrived in Sydney eight hours after leaving Gisborne. Loading the cartons of fish on to an N.A.C. freighter are, from left: Fred McKay, Alan Cousins, Jerry Muir, George Walker, and Don McLennon.
