Academic Honours

Further to those printed in last month's "Photo News", we have received pictures of six more former Gisborne secondary school students who have recently attained university degrees.

Richard John Falkiner, son of Mr and Mrs N. L. Falkiner, 267 Clifford Street, who graduated B.D.S. from Otago University. Richard is now employed as an orthodontist in Hastings.

Mrs Yvonne Curtis, daughter of Mr and Mrs P. M. Howard, 15 Belfast Crescent, has attained both her B.SC. and M.Sc. at Victoria University. Dux of the Girls' High School in 1957, she is now a part-time lecturer at Victoria University.

Yvonne's brother, Maurice Howard, graduated B.Sc. from Victoria University in 1962, and is now a chemical engineer at the Tasman Paper Mills, Kawerau.

John H. Hudson, Pomona Orchard, Matawhero, recently attained his Bachelor of Agriculture (horticulture) degree at Massey University, Manawatu.

Russell A. Poole, son of Mr and Mrs O. F. Poole, Island Road, has graduated with his Bachelor of Engineering degree from University of Canterbury. He is now working in Wellington for an architecs and structural engineering firm.

Ian Wright, son of Mr and Mrs W. Wright, Wellington, and formerly of Cochrane Street, graduated M.Sc with first class honours in Mathematics from Victoria University. He is at present working as a junior lecturer in mathematics at the University, but intends going to Australia next year to study for his Ph. D.
