Antique Typewriters

A display of antique typewriters, assembled from throughout the country, was recently exhibited at the Gisborne branch of Armstrong and Springhall Ltd.

The display contained 16 different models, the oldest being made in 1892.

The designs of some of the machines were very unusual, while others bore remarkable resemblances to present-day models in their mechanical workings.
