Country Exchanges Moved

Two automatic telephone exchangee, for Motu and Matawai, which were erected and outfitted in the city adjacent to the Post Office, were loaded on to the trays of two trucks and transported to their respective sites.

The exchanges, which should be in operation by September, will replace existing manual ones.

Loading the buildings on to the trucks proved to be a spectacular business, the front of the trucks being hoisted in the air to allow the huts to be winched aboard.
