N. Z. Maori Rugby

Following the annual Prince of Wales Cup rugby, played at Rugby Park between Northern and Southern Maori teams, the New Zealand Maori All Black selectors named a team to play Poverty Bay-East Coast.

The resulting game proved to be a good one, with the Maori team coming out on top by 14 points to five.

Watched closely by the referee, Mr A. G. Burns, Maori prop Howard Paiaka bulldozes his way across the line for a try. Attempting to stop him are Muru Walters (on ground), Buster Taylor, and Doc Wi Repa (7).

Flying Maori winger Pat Myers ran into trouble from Bob Penetito and John Collins when he tried to cut through the home side's defence.
