Annual Corso Collection

On a recent Saturday morning a strong band of voluntary workers canvassed the city for donations to the annual Corso Freedom From Hunger Campaign.

This year was a special effort for the Gisborne-East Coast district, as it had a target figure of £8000, with which to finance an agriculture project in Nagpur, India. It was also Corso's 21st birthday.

The organising committee was not disappointed with the response, and at the time of writing was well on the way to achieving its goal. In the initial counts, the appeal figures were up about 50% on last year.
