Showroom On Rails

Felt and Textiles of New Zealand Ltd presented their products to the people of Gisborne in a novel way last month when their "Showroom on Rails" arrived at the railway station for a three-day stay.

An old passenger carriage, attractively renovated and furnished with wall to wall carpets and modern fittings, the showroom contained a complete range of floor coverings, some pieces of furniture, and other items such as shoes, mattresses, and rope and foam rubber samples.

The mobile showroom is touring the whole country, and will be on the move for 17 weeks.
