Band Inspected

Prior to leaving for the New Zealand Championships in Auckland, the Gisborne Civic Band gave a concert in the Lytton High School assembly hall.

Before the concert, the band was inspected by the Mayor, Mr H. H. Barker.

At the championships, the band was placed third in the C grade hymn, and fifth in the quickstep march.

A member of the band, Colin Nunns, gained third place in the flugel horn solo. Mr Nunns is a member of the N.Z. National Band which will tour Canada and U.S.A. in August.
