Orphans' Club Tenth Anniversary
The Gisborne Orphans'.Club celebrated its tenth anniversary at a korero held in the Abercorn Hall on a recent Saturday night.
At the function, three life membership awards, and 51 ten-years' service badges, were presented.
A portion of the programme was taken up with the finals of the Bill Sutherland Sketch Cup competition, in which several humorous items were presented.
The winning sketch, entitled "Hanging an Innocent Man", featured, from left; Frank Pollard, Bruce Wotherspoon, and Wally Jonasen.
Second place went to a humorous play on words, with Keith Stichbury, Eric Brown, and George Rawlings as the expectant by-standers at left.....................
