Roving Camera
Children of the Gisborne playcentre, in the P.R.O. Hall, celebrated Easter with a party. Pictured with their supervisor, Mrs R. Thompson, the children are, from camera, at left: Warwick Eastgate, Terry Zelcer, Bruce Watson, and Richard Lowes. At right: Pier Swann, Dean Kini, Peter Hazelwood, and Kim Taihuka.
Two little girls with two big mushrooms, which were found near Turihau, are Debbie McCormack, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. McCormack, Centennial Crescent, and Tracie-Lee Pitcher, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Pitcher, Ayton Street.
Fourteen-year-old Mate Nepe, of the Esplanade, because of his disability, was forced to take a taxi to Ilminster School every day. Now, thanks to the efforts of the Gisborne Lions Club, Mate has a bicycle, pictured being presented to him by Messrs Mick Sheridan (left), president of the Lions Club, and Owen Cross, manager of the Farmers Trading Company, and a member of Lions.
