Roving Camera

The heavy steel beams which comprise the strength of the floor and outer shell, were all pre-cut in Napier, and assembled together on the site like a giant Meccano set. The building is pictured from Kaiti Hill with the city in the background.

The construction of the Gisborne Refrigerating Company's new beef-killing floor, which is situated behind the works under the slopes of Kaiti Hill, advanced at a rapid rate last month when the Hawkes Bay firm of Percy and Henderson erected the steel framework in three weeks.
