A Tauranga golfer, Dr John Mark, introduced Gisborne to the latest in fairway accessories, a motorised caddy-cart, when he took part in the annual Poverty Bay Veterans' Golf Tournament. Powered by an Austin 7 motor, the caddy-cart was built by Dr Mark six years ago after he suffered a set-back in health which threatened to curtail his golfing activities. Now he matches it with the rest of his fellow golfers in relative comfort.
