Giants at Work

Grunts and groans in plenty, arguments with the referee, an occasional exhibition of the manly art of wrestling, and plenty of showmanship were the ingredients of an exciting bout of professional wrestling in the Opera House recently between Al Costello and "Lucky" Suminovich. The bout ended when Costello refused to behave like a good boy and got himself disqualified.

After his disqualification Costello manhandles referee H. Duckworth and argues against decision. Ref. had the last word. He strode out of ring and left them to it.

Less showmanship and better wrestling was seen in amateur bouts which preceded professional contest.

Looking down the Poverty Bay flats from the hill above Grey's Bush the camera records a panorama of plains, hills and sea. Gisborne is on extreme left, with Young Nick's Head at centre, and the Waipaoa River and the Wharerata Hills on the right.
