Girls'High Swimming

At the Girls' High School swimming sports, held at the McRae Baths, excitement reached a crescendo towards the end of the programme when the house and form relays were held.

In both the intermediate and junior house relays, and the form relay, new record times were set to the applause of the large and enthusiastic crowd of pupils.

The senior championship was won by Janie Taiapa, who also broke a record, with the intermediate and junior championships being won by Diane Jones and Sheryl Barrett respectively.

As is now the accepted custom, fancy-dressed girls staged a humourous item, with all manner of crazy antics alongside of, above, and below the pool.
