The James Bond Look

This is Gisborne's high-fashion model Margaret Whitehead Haigh looking very much like somebody out of a thriller by Ian Fleming. She is in fact wearing what compere Beatrice Hunter called "the James Bond look" at the recent Fashion Parade sponsored by the Gisborne Plunket Society, when Adairs presented the latest creations to a large audience in the War Memorial Hall. Margaret is wearing a Burberry raincoat with black accessories, along with an air of mystery which doesn't reveal where she packs her gun.

The outerwear display was interrupted for half an hour while Hurley Bendon of Auckland showed their range of corsetry, during which time our camera was discreetly lowered, along with our eyes.
