A City Of Rivers And Bridges

Gisborne is built on three rivers, the Waimata, Taruheru, and Turanganui, and consequently, has a great number of bridges... 12 in all. An ideal playground for oar and motor boatmen, the rivers are flanked by green banks and parks in their lower reaches, and are the pride of many riverside homes in the suburbs.
