Modern Make-up
Gisborne womenfolk recently had the opportunity of learning the finer arts "of modern facial make-up when Miss Elaine Miscall, the winner of the 1963 "Miss New Zealand" beauty contest, visited the city for several days.
A consultant and beauty specialist for Paul Duval Cosmetics, Elaine demonstrated her wares in Crawford's Pharmacy for the "Photo News" camera. Her model was Miss Hazel Clare.
Stage 1: In preparing for the make-up, cleansing cream is applied, followed by a moisturiser.
Stage 2: Eye make-up is considered one of the most important parts of modern make-up. Here, Elaine applies an eye shadow powder.
Stage 3: A soft eye-liner pencil accentuates the eye brows and lids
Stage 4: Next comes the lipstick
Stage 5: In finishing the job, hair spray keeps Hazel's hair in position throughout the day.
