New Ambulance Inspected
The Gisborne St. John Ambulance Association recently took delivery of a new Dodge ambulance.
The body of the vehicle was locally built, and Incorporates some revolutionary ideas, including new light-weight stretchers.
Before going into commission, the ambulance was inspected by officials of the Cook Hospital, where these pictures were taken.
Mr W. E. Rundle (left), transport officer, and Mr N. Frazer, transport committee, try the new stretcher with Mr J. A. Jukes, transport chairman, as patient. Looking on at rear are, from left: Messrs P. J. Betteridge, secretary Cook Hospital Board, T. Lawrie, medical superintendent, and R. W. James, secretary St. John Ambulance.
