A new 39 passenger motor bus is at present being built for the City Council in McCullough's Motor Body Builders workshop, in Cobden Street. Trevor McFarlane and Les Stevenson are pictured working on the large A.E.C. chassis. The bus will be the second of this model to be built in Gisborne, and the fourth to join the Council's fleet.

An enormous 7,500 gallon, vertical, copper, hot water boiler, which arrived in Gisborne last month from the South Island, for installation in the new base hospital in Upper Ormond Road. Weighing six-and-a-half tons, the boiler is the first of its kind in the district. (Mayfair Studios).
