Members of the Poverty Bay School of Dancing who won the British Ballet Organisation's Silver Tap shield after the recent annual tap examinations. The shield is presented to the New Zealand school which gains the highest honours points in the exam. The Gisborne Lions Club recently presented an 18-seater mini-bus to the Gisborne Intellectually Handicapped Children's Society at a function at Ulverstone. The bus, valued at £1250, will be used to transport children to both the Kahutia School and the Donnelly Training Centre. The president of the Lions Club, Mr Mick Sheridan (centre right), is pictured presenting the bus to Mr Ian Smith, president of the I.H.C. Society.
