Peter Wooller, of Woollers Transport, had an unusual load on his truck recently.....a shipment of marine mines on loan to Canterbury Pipelines from the N.Z. Navy for use as marker buoys during the launching of the City Council's submarine sewer outfall pipe into Poverty Bay this month.

The largest shipment of water pipes ever to come into Gisborne was unloaded at the Gisborne wharf last month. Shipped directly from Newcastle, Australia, on the Konui, the pipes weighed more than 180 tons.
