National Title To Skuse

The Gisborne amateur boxer, Roy Skuse, won his first N.Z. title at the recent National Boxing Championships in Wellington, when he T.K.O'ed Greymouth's Peter Bell in the third round.

The two were even after the first two rounds, but the Gisborne southpaw made no mistake when he put Bell to the canvas with a crushing left. Although he rose at the count of eight, he wore a dazed expression, and was wide open to Skuse's attack when the referee stopped the fight.

The 23-year-old son of Mr and Mrs G. Skuse, 3 Dalrymple Road, Roy has been trained for three years by Dick Cook.
