Wool Board Competition

The New Zealand Wool Board recently held a national competition in which C.W.I. and W.D.F.F. members competed.

The women were required to design and make their own garments from wool, and model them for judging.

The contest was divided into areas of New Zealand, Gisborne entries competing in the Napier section. The section winners then competed in the national contest.

Although local entries received several awards in the area contest, none gained a place in the N.Z. final.

Sole judge of the contest, which drew entries from Whangarei to Invercargill, was Mrs Pat Stewart, of Stout Street, Gisborne.

The local prize-winners were presented with their awards by the national president of the C.W.I., Mrs E. R. Holt, of Hawkes Bay, at a function in the Old Folks' Hall last month.
