The bulk storage tanks containing aircraft fuel which have been installed at Carton Field. As part of an elaborate refuelling system, costing £11,500, the tanks will hold aviation turbine kerosene and 100 octane aviation gasolene to service both jet and piston engine aircraft. The fuel is piped underground to special hydrants set in the concrete apron.

Economical cars these baby Fiats! When ex-Gisbornites Brian, Jim, and Peter McIntosh paid a visit to the city recently, they caused consternation with the transport authorities by parking their two little cars neatly onto one metered space. The boys are now living in Hamilton, where they have started a successful Fiat 500 Club with 25 members.
