Founder's Day In The Gardens

A large gathering of Scouts, Cubs, Guides, and Brownies attended the East Coast District Association's annual Founder's Day ceremony at the Botanical Gardens.

An impressive parade, led by colour parties representing the many organisations, performed a march past at the beginning of the ceremony, the salute being taken by Mr F. T. Swindell, district commissioner, and Mrs E. W. W. Johnson, provincial guide commissioner.

At the function, awards were presented to local Scouts and Scouters by Mr Gary Graham, the N.Z. Association's field commissioner.
