Cartoonist Comes To Gisborne

The former cartoonist of the "Dominion" newspaper, Mr A. S. Paterson, has moved to Gisborne to take the position of curator of the Gisborne Museum and Art Gallery.

On the staff of the newspaper following his return to New Zealand from a year's study of art and drawing in London, Mr Paterson produced regular strip cartoons for the daily paper for 25 years, "Little Eric of Berhampore" and ''Gardiner, the Warehouse Cat" being perhaps his most famous.

Having retired from this occupation, he is now intensely interested in painting, and feels that his new position should offer him much satisfaction as well as the opportunity of painting in a new and interesting environment.
