Cricket at the Oval

The strong batting and devastating bowling of the visiting Waikato cricket team proved too overpowering for Poverty Bay when they were defeated outright, by 226 runs, at the Oval recently.

Captaining the star-studded visiting team was the experienced Bruce Pairaudeau, whose decisive batting was a feature of the match.
