At the P.B. Football Association Junior Management Committee's annual end-of-season dinner and prizegiving for schoolboy soccer players, the patron, Mr H. H. Barker, presented the captains of the winning teams with their trophies.

The sum of £156, which was raised by the Gisborne Lions Club at their recent gala day, was donated to the Intellectually Handicapped Children's Association. Mr Gordon Harris (left), president of the Lions, is pictured presenting the cheque to Mr Ian Smith, chairman of the association.

Mr W. L. A. Spence (right), who has been chief engineer at Cook Hospital for almost 10 years, receiving a token of appreciation from the chairman of the hospital board, Mr J. B. Williams, at a farewell function at the Nurses' Home reeently. Mr Spence is departing for Whangarei, where he will take office as engineer to the Northland Hospital Board.
