Motorists who pulled in to Mike Vita's Servicentre on Labour Day certainly got their money's worth of attention. A small army of Cook Hospital nurses, manning the pumps and facilities, swarmed over the customers' vehicles armed with water hoses, oil bottles, polishing rags, and cheerful smiles, to help raise money for their hospital chapel fund. For their efforts, they netted over £36 from donations and a percentage of the profits. Bicycles lined the Roebuck Road footpath for several hundred yards when the Japanese gymnastics display was staged for school children at the Y.M.C.A. recently.
