Lively Colts' Rugby

The Poverty Bay - Waikato Colts encounter proved to be an entertaining, lively, clean-fought watch, narrowly won by the visitors with a three-point margin gained by a penalty goal in the first half.

Heavily outweighed, the P.B. forwards toiled tremendously, but failed to gain possession as often as desirable, thus allotting a defensive role to their speedy backs; a job they performed with solid efficiancy, never allowing the visitors to cross their line.

Given more ball, the P.B. backline could well have turned the tables, showing dash and determination on the few occasions they ware treated to possession.
