Tatapouri Boat Ramp

A 125 feet-long, 12 feet-wide concrete boat ramp was constructed in one day at Tatapouri recently by a large band of voluntary workers.

Built by boat owners and fishermen for about £800, the ramp runs down to a narrow, but safe, channel through the rocks, which is to be indicated by markers. For public usage, the ramp will open up entirely new fishing grounds for the small-boat owner.

The workers also reclaimed an area for boat and trailer parking.

The ramp will be officially opened next Saturday with a ceremony, to be followed by a fishing contest.
