A top Japanese fashion authority, Miss Teruko Watanabe, presented a series of fashion parades, entitled "Cherry Blossom Time", to large audiences in Adair Bros Department store when she visited Gisborne last month as part of her tour of New Zealand.

Dressed in a beautiful kimono, said to be worth more than £100, Miss Watanabe compered the parades, which featured designs by Simplicity Patterns using Japanese materials.
