Police Chief Transfers

Chief Inspector C. A. G. McRae, of Wainui Road, who for the past three years has been officer-in-charge of the Gisborne police district, has been transferred on promotion to New Plymouth.

His replacement, Chief Inspector R. A. Moore, of Wellington, will be remembered in Gisborne as he served here during the early days of his career.

After the parade, Chief Inspector McRae congratulates two old friends whom he served with on the beat in Wellington many years ago, who are retiring from the force. They are Constables O. J. Elliott (rear), 32 years' service, and L. L. Kendrick, Kaiti, 34 years' service.
