The Caltex Oil Company's advertising gimmick of selling plastic crash helmets came to a climax in Gisborne during the school holidays when all children wearing helmets were treated to a free picture show.

In addition, they received a hand-out of sweets as they entered the theatre.

The company also provided children from the Heni Materoa Home and Health Camp with free bus transport to and from the show.
