Youthful Boxers

A youthful boxing tournament between members of Gisborne, Te Reinga, and Central Hawkes Bay gymnasiums was staged before a large crowd in the Army Hall on a recent Saturday night.

The main bout of the night between Gisborne's Winton Jones and Hawkes Bay's junior national champion, J. Ramsay, resulted in a split decision victory for the visitor after a closely and skilfully-fought contest.
