The Competitions

The Gisborne Competitions Society's annual festival, which ran before good houses for eight days in the Opera House during the August school holidays, was once again a great success.

Entries in the wide variety of events were overall much the same in number as last year, but were drawn front a larger area.

A feature this year was the presentation of the society's first life membership awards, in recognition of the sterling work done by the recipients over a long period of time.
