Poverty Bay Indoor Bowls
The annual Robieson Shield fours indoor bowling tournament was held over a recent weekend in the Kaiti Memorial Hall, and for the first time, was conducted as an open competition.
More than 50 teams took part, three of them cowing from outside the district, to provide keen competition and excellent bowling: for all concerned.
Mrs A. Robinson, in the unavoidable absence of her husband, Mr Robbie Robinson, who made and donated the trophies, presents the shield to the winning team from St. Mark's Club. Members of the team are: Messrs M. Ashton (skip), E. White, W. Irvine, and G. Butler.
