Damage to Bridge

Work on the neir highway bridge across the Waipaoa at Matawhero will be set back by an "old man" flood which came down the river on April 24.

As usual, vast quantities of timber came down the river.

Joins in the new water-supply pipe were strained when portions of it were floated by water in channel.
