Burton Bowls Tournament
The Gisborne-East Coast centre's major bowling trophy, the 44-year-old Burton Cup, was this year won by the Gisborne Club's team, akipped by the accomplished national bowler, E. H. (Bill) Crowley, when it defeated Colin Hume's Kahutia four by 30 to 18 in an exciting final played on a heavy green at the Kahutia Club. The final marked the end of five days of keenly contasted play, spiced by occasional upsets, and marred in the 1atter stages by poor weather.
