The opportunity for Gisborne motorists to test their driving skill was furnished by the N.Z. Transport Dept. recently when their mobile testing machine spent two days in the city during its National tour.

The machine consisted of normal automobile controls which operated a model car on a moving road (revolving belt), with unsuspected hazards occurring.

Pictured at the controls is Mr Bert Searle, receiving instructions from the touring officer, Mr C. Horniblow, of Napier, and local schools instructor, Mr L. N. Hutchison.
