Harold, son of Mr and Mrs D. H. Pierce, Dalrymple Road, who is a cadet officer in the N.Z. Red Cross Society in Wellington, gained his First Aid Proficiency Badge, Advance Men's First Aid, Ellen Commual Health and Hygiene, and Elementary Home Nursing certificates in the 1962 examinations.

Mr and Mrs C. F. Witty, of Papanui, Christchurch, who recently celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. They were residents of Gisborne for 28 years, and their son Bevan recently worked for the local department of Lands and Survey.

Ivy Gardiner, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. R. Gardiner, Cheeseman Road, who is the head prefect at St. Mary's School, was one of the six students from Gisborne who met the Queen and Duke at Hastings during the recent Royal visit.

Susan Fuller, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. G. Fuller, Churchill Crescent, a pupil of St. Mary's School, was selected as this year's Gisborne Post Primary Scholar in the 1962 Chamber of Commerce examinations.
