Our East Coast page this month is devoted to what appears to be the Coasters' most popular hobby..... fishing, - in this case, the Tokomaru Bay Citizens' Association fishing contest.

Winner of the trophy for the biggest fish was Mr Dick Porter, with this 58 lb. Mako.

Allan Wootten with the cup he won for catching the most fish in the underwater section.

This beauty was not caught in the competition. It is a large dolphin which was washed ashore at Ongaruru Beach.

Winner of the trophy for the heaviest fish in the underwater section was Mrs M. Ryland, of Waima, with an 8 lb. Moki.
