Operatic Society Ball
To celebrate their 70th jubilee anniversary year, the Gisborne Amateur Operatic Society held a ball and a cocktail party in the Army Hall, before the commencement of their two-week season in the Opera House with their annual production, which this year is Sigmund Romberg's, "New Moon".

Members of the official party included Mr Tom Tombleson, his wife, Mrs Esme Tombleson, M.P., Mr Peter Keiha, and Miss Jenny Fromow.
