Pupils of the Gisborne Intermediate School were recently visited for five days by members of the Windlietb School, at Porirua East, who are pictured above with their billets. In mid-December, a party of local children will return the visit.

Fifteen-year-old Red Cross Society sergeant-major, John Barker, receiving his cadet proficiency medallion from the society's past president, Mrs I. D. Bramwell. The medallion is the highest award possible to be gained by a cadet, and is only the 2nd in Gisborne, and the 15th in New Zealand, to be presented.
