Joseph Martin Memorial Bowls

The first annual bowling tournament in memory of the late Mr Joseph John Martin, was held during Labour weekend, and was fittingly won, on their home ground, by Harold Powell's Kahutia team, when they comfortably defeated a Hamilton team, skipped by H. Pleydell, in the final.

The handsome trophy for which the teams were competing, and a presentation picture of Mr Martin given by his family to the Kahutia Bowling Club, of which he was a foundation member and a former president.
