Sun-Sea-Speed-Spray

Take ample proportions of sun, sea, speed, and spray, combine them together, and you have the recipe for the pleasurable pastime which is fast becoming one of Gdsborne's most popular summer sports: boating.

This year, more than one hundred aqua-addicts will take the water in their wide variety of vessels, ranging from "P" class yachts to 40 miles per hour plus performance speedboats.

Boasting the biggest increase in popularity is the cabin and open runabout class, which appears to have almost doubled its numbers since last season.

The pictures on these pages were taken on the opening day of the Gisborne Yacht and Powerboat Club, when members took part in races, displays, and a parade.
