New Oven Installed
A fully automatic continuous baking oven and final proving unit was installed at Chas. Mills and Sons' bakehouse in Ormond Road recently.
Constructed in Auckland, the oven travelled to Gisborne on three trucks, and required two mobile cranes to place it in position (above). The oven has a capacity of 1500 loaves, each of which is processed for approximately 85 minutes.
